Matt Lambert is a filmmaker and multi-disciplinary visual artist whose works spans film, live-performance, music, experimental documentary, publishing, creative direction and curation. For over a decade, much of his intimately provocative work has aimed to represent queer through a variety of mediums. In 2023, he co-directed Eldorado for Netflix with director Benjamin Cantu — telling and recreating untold stories of queer Berlin 1926-1933.Long-term collaborations have been an integral part of this work. For several years, he worked as a creative partner to musical artists Mykki Blanco and Finn Ronsdorf as well as with Stefano Pilati to launch his brand, Random Identities. He now continues an ongoing performance and film collaboration series with Michele Lamy, titled INFINITE — with performances taking place in Venice, Berghain and Julia Stoschek Foundation and their films screening festivals and galleries globally. In addition, he and his long-time creative partner, MJ Harper, have recently released a feature-length film project entitled ARIAS FOR A NEW WORLD — the manifestation of live stage project which Lambert acted as Artistic Director. His photography is often a companion to his film and performance work, having published 5 photo books — KEIM, VITIUM, HOME, BUTT MUSCLE and PLEASURE PARK. Through his art studio VITIUM, he’s also published the zine ‘HOLES’ as well as edited Vincent Wechselberger’s first book, ‘READY’.SISSY SMUT, is an ongoing series at Volksbühne Berlin where Lambert curates transgressive, queer film nights with live stage shows he creates in collaboration with guests — which have included Brontez Purnell, David Hoyle and BUTT Magazine.
